DISTRICT ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR SEPTEMBER 2013 EVENTS

  1. This serves to further remind all Churches to prepare a full set of quarter ending reports as per the checklist earlier sent by the Secretariat. The District Departmental councils will be held at Mtendere Main Church on Wednesday 18th September 2013 at 17:00hrs, while the CPC and District Council will be on Sunday 22nd September at the same venue.

NOTE: The Sabbath countings for both the Sabbath School and main service for the 2nd and 7th Sabbath reports should be send together with the rest of the reports since no church has so far sent them.

 

  1. Elders please make further emphasis on this announcement. The Conference has received the following materials for Sabbath School and Personal Ministries from SID.

(i)               Keys to Sermon preparations                       -           K12.00

(ii)             Reclaiming missing members                          -           K12.00

(iii)           Prison Ministries                                           -            K12.00

(iv)            Personal Witnessing                                     -           K13.50

(v)              Small Group Ministries                                 -           K13.50

(vi)            Sabbath School Teacher                               -           K12,00

(vii)          Methods of Door to Door Visitation -           K13.50

(viii)         Personal Ministries Leader                             -           K13.50

(ix)            Adventist Community Services                       -           K14.50

(x)             Principles of Church Growth                          -           K13.50

These books above are costing K130.00 in all. Every church, company and branch must have a set of all these books for effective witnessing. Please each church, company and branch must send paid up orders to the Lusaka Conference Personal Ministries Secretary Sr Mervis Shanyinde , or may pay directly to her office.  All Elders and Company Leaders and members at large must buy their own personal copies.

 

  1. Elders remember to send this report. The Zambia Union Personal Ministries Office demands to have your baptisms reported as follows

(a)   Church    -number of baptized

(b)   Company – number of baptized

(c)    Branch     – number of baptized

Then total

Please your September report should indicate the information as tabulated above.

 

  1. 4.    Elders keep promoting the camporee. This serves to inform and remind you that the 2nd SID Pathfinder Camporee will be held in Livingstone from 13 – 19th April, 2014 at LBES College. It will be a historical event with an anticipated attendance of 6000 delegates (Pathfinders and Leaders). All the Leaders and Pathfinders should begin now to plan to attend without fail. Be advised that our young people in Zambia do not need to pay in US Dollars but kwacha. The fixed registration fee is K435.00. Please take note of the details that were attached to last week’s announcements; and the deadlines specified. For those wishing to have their registration deducted from the office, kindly pass through our Departmental office and log into the 2014 SID Camporee registration fee deduction authorization sheet.

  

  1. The pathfinder week of prayer scheduled to take place from 15th to 21st September 2013 will not take place but churches should prepare for a pathfinder day to take place on Sabbath 21st September 2013. All pathfinders and youth choirs will swap on this day as follows;

- Chitukuko will swap with Mtendere Main.

- Mass Media will swap with Kalingalinga

 - Helen Kaunda will swap with Mtendere South.

- Mtendere East will swap with Valley View

- Palabana will swap with Mapili Company.

- Mount Olives will maintain..

 

  1. The Youth Executive will be visiting Kalingalinga and Mass Media on Sunday 15th September 2013 at 14:00hrs.

 

  1. There will be an end of year youth camp from 22nd - 29th December 2013 to be held in Livingstone. Churches are urged to promote this event and at least sponsor 2 youths. Please refer to the attached form for information on registration and other fees.

 

  1. The Lusaka Conference sponsored crusade to be hosted by Chitukuko church with its company Valley View and Mtendere East church with its company Mount Olives begins tomorrow Sunday 15th September to 5th of October 2013. Venue is Ibex Hill Community school grounds. Speakers are Dr Edwin Shimunzhila (Lusaka Conference President), Pastor Goliath Naini (Lusaka Conference Executive Secretary) and Elder Isaac Kaputo (Lusaka Conference Financial Controller). Theme: BIBLE SPEAKS. All the Churches are asked to attend and support this evangelist program. Remember one member one soul.

 

  1. All crusade committee members for the above mentioned crusade to meet today Sabbath 14th September 2013 at Kitana Private school at 14:00hrs.

 

  1. LEMD Churches are requested to send updated church membership to the district communication department via our email address communication.lusakaeastdistrict.lusaka@live.com  for the update of the district website on the home page. Your quick response will be highly appreciated

Admin elders, please furnish the communication with the total membership of your churches as soon as possible.  This announcement has been running for some months now and no response so far.
